From Creator Content to High-Performing Media, How SheSpeaks Optimized Influencer Content to Drive Stronger Paid Media Performance

September 16, 2026

Influencer content is built to connect with people. But simply putting paid media dollars behind creator content does not guarantee it will perform as effectively as possible.

At SheSpeaks, we believe the big opportunity is to optimize the creator content itself for the paid media environment.

By analyzing performance signals throughout a paid social campaign, we identify where creative can be improved.  These signals might be the opening hook,  the product reveal, value proposition, CTA and/or format.

Those insights allow us to continuously optimize content while it’s in market, helping brands get more performance from the influencer investment they’ve already made.

The First Few Seconds Matter: Optimize the Hook

On paid social, you have a very short window to earn attention. The opening of an influencer video can make the difference between someone stopping to watch or scrolling past.

In one SheSpeaks example, an Energizer influencer video started with:

“This is sponsored by Energizer.”

The original creative delivered a 10% Hook rate.

SheSpeaks optimized the opening so the creator was already in frame, opened with a more natural statement, “Y’all, I just got back from Walmart,” and revealed the product earlier.

The result? The Hook increased from 10% to 31%, which is a 210% increase.

That’s more than simply changing the first line. It’s adapting the creator’s storytelling to the realities of a paid media environment.

Holding Attention Means Getting to the Value Faster

Winning the first few seconds is only the beginning. Once someone stops scrolling, the creative has to give them a reason to keep watching.

That’s where Hold becomes an important signal.

In the same Energizer example, Hold increased slightly from 34% to 35% after the opening was optimized. More importantly, the stronger Hook helped drive a meaningful improvement in CTR from 2.95% to 4.39%.  This illustrates an important principle: creative performance isn’t driven by one metric in isolation.

A stronger opening can bring more people into the story, while a clearer, faster path to the product or benefit can help move those viewers toward action.

CTR Tells You When Creative Is Moving People to Action

Engagement is valuable, but for paid media, brands ultimately need the creative to contribute to a business outcome. CTR can be a powerful signal that the content is not just getting attention, it is motivating people to take the next step.

The optimized Energizer example reached 4.39% CTR, which is 65% higher than benchmark and a 49% increase from the original video.

In another Energizer optimization, SheSpeaks tested a new intro that reframed the product through a familiar trend reference:

“If you know the viral Brazilian body mist…”

The optimized version changed the opening visual and audio and delivered a 27% Hook rate, 9% Hold and 11.39% CTR, compared with 20% Hook, 6% Hold and 11.87% CTR for the original version.

The takeaway isn’t that every optimization will improve every metric simultaneously, it’s that paid social gives brands the ability to identify what is working and continuously refine the creative based on actual audience response.

The Biggest Opportunity: More Clicks Without Starting Over

Perhaps the biggest misconception in the marketplace is that influencer marketing competes with One of the most compelling benefits of optimizing influencer content for paid social is that brands don’t necessarily need to create entirely new content.

The creator content already exists, the authenticity is already there and the audience connection is already there.

The opportunity is to make the content work harder as paid media.

Across these Energizer optimization examples, SheSpeaks drove 164% more clicks by optimizing the ad creative and formats at key points throughout the media flight.

Instead of thinking about influencer content as an asset that runs once on a creator’s channel, brands can treat high-performing creator content as a media asset that can be continuously improved upon.

Performance signals tell us where the opportunity exists, so we ask questions like:

  • Is the Hook too slow?
  • Does the creator reveal the product too late?
  • Is the strongest benefit buried?
  • Could the opening visual be more compelling?
  • Is there a stronger CTA?

The answer doesn’t always require new creative content. Sometimes it requires restructuring the first few seconds, changing the opening visual, moving the product reveal, or adapting the story for the paid environment.

That’s how SheSpeaks turns influencer content into performance media, by creating content that connects, optimizing it based on what audiences actually do, and helping brands get more from their media investment.
