SheSpeaks Grocery Shopping & Private Label Survey

SheSpeaks fielded a grocery shopping study to better understand how consumers shop for groceries and how name brand vs. private label factor into decisions. The survey was fielded from July 26- August 10, 2025. 1,321 people completed the survey.

Topline Insights:

  • Taste, Quality of Product, and Price are the top factors driving brand loyalty.
  • Browsing the shelf for prices/special discounts has the greatest influence in purchase decisions when shopping in-store.
  • Product Availability and Price are the biggest factors that drive shoppers to purchase another brand.
  • Store brand purchases are favored over name brand recently and in the past six months, while name brand purchases were favored over store brands one year ago. However, we say a 17% increase in shoppers who say they will buy name brands today vs. our 2023 study.
