Instagram Influencer Marketing in 2025: 3 New Features You Need to Know About

March 6, 2025

2025 is still fresh, but we’ve already seen some big changes to Instagram this year. While the list of recent updates is long, we’re particularly excited about a handful that will impact users, creators, and brands interested in Instagram influencer marketing on Instagram.

With continued uncertainty around TikTok’s future, we’re also seeing Instagram making moves to capture short-form video audiences. From fresh customization options to video-first features, Instagram is evolving to keep up with shifting social media habits (read more about some of these shifts in our previous blog post).

Read on for more about what’s new and what it means for you.

Your Instagram, Your Rules: Rearrange Your Grid

Instagram’s testing a brand-new feature that lets you rearrange your profile grid. Now, you can change the flow of your feed and showcase your content exactly how you want. For brands and creators who prioritize aesthetics, this is a game-changer in creating a feed that pops. We can’t wait to see how brands get creative with this new feature to promote product launches or brand initiatives. Instagram has been talking about this feature since at least 2022, and it looks like you’ll only have to wait a little longer to see it become a reality.

Next-Level Video Editing

Meta is bringing their own version of CapCut to the table. The Edits app will make it easier to create professional-grade video content and will be deeply integrated with the Instagram environment. It’s for far more than just simple video edits – it will give brands and creators the power to create custom, high-quality content for Instagram (and beyond). We’re looking forward to seeing how creators can leverage the new app to up their content games. Edits is currently available in the App Store but won’t launch until March 13.

Reels Just Got a Major Upgrade

Instagram is positioning itself as the next potential home for all things video. To compete more in the long-form space, Instagram is rolling out 3-minute Reels. For brands who prioritize storytelling, this could be huge. Instagram is also adding a new Friends Reels Tab, and Trial Reels which will allow users to test a Reel’s performance among a random audience before it’s added to their profile grid. Users can decide whether or not to post on their profile based on interactions. This will give creators and brands a glimpse of potential content performance and can influence their overall approach.

What Does This All Mean?

Instagram is doubling down on video, personalization, and content flexibility in 2025. These updates give creators and brands more control over their profile and content, whether through showcasing creativity with longer Reels, curating feeds for campaigns or brand initiatives, or exploring new ways to engage with audiences. It’s all about making the Instagram experience feel more personalized, creative, connected (and ubiquitous) than ever before.
